The Big Strum
The Big Strum is an exciting new initiative offering free sheet music, lyric sheets, audio, and video resources for schools to rehearse independently before coming together for a large-scale ukulele performance event.
Everyone involved is hugely excited about the project and encourages music hubs across the UK to make use of the materials and share videos of their performances for inclusion in future YouTube and social media content.

David Gray
David Gray is a multi-instrumentalist and experienced music educator who has been creating engaging educational content since the early 2020s. Through his Music with Mr Gray YouTube channel, he has built an ever-increasing library of 500+ videos designed to support classroom music-making with brass, woodwind, percussion, guitars, and ukuleles. Based in Devon, UK, David works as a primary school music specialist and brings over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality music education. His freelance work has also included projects for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)’s Classroom200 initiative and other educational programmes.
David became an Octopus Associate in September 2022 and is one of the most active collaborators. A passionate advocate for the brand for many years, he says:
